Rabbi Josh Cantor, a life-long resident of New Jersey, who is a member of the International Federation of Rabbis, often says that the beauty and location of Temple Shalom in Franklin, could, inspire ANYONE spiritually. Rabbi Cantor believes that people are returning to Temple Shalom to find more meaning in their lives, in a comfortable setting;. regardless of the chaos that surrounds us on a daily basis.

Rabbi Cantor, since becoming a Rabbi, has been welcoming of all.  Rabbi Cantor is making great efforts to bring new members to our Temple from our neighboring communities, give back to the community that supports our Temple and introduce new activities to our existing congregants and their families.  Such efforts include: a food drive for the NJ Coalition against Hunger; walking with our religious school students on a walk-a-thon to help the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; plan and organize trips, such as a recent one to the Jewish Heritage Museum, and the Eldridge Street Temple in NYC; support our social events and fundraisers, such as the Art Auction, Interfaith Services with our neighboring house of worships.

Rabbi Cantor encourages participation during services in order to allow us to speak openly about our Faith, the Torah, our Culture.  This not only sparks interest during these services, but tells us that Rabbi Cantor really wants to listen and share his teachings with all of us.

our Rabbi

Our services have changed to reflect what is going on in modern Judaism. It’s about listening, learning and sharing.  ”I want Temple Shalom to be spiritually meaningful, as well as fun!” asserts our Rabbi.  Rabbi Josh welcomes any feedback and questions by emailing him at Rabbi.josh@yahoo.com
